Magic: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013: Exalted Army Challenge Solution

Updated on June 25, 2013

Introduction

Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers has become an annual release on XBox Live Arcade, Playstation Network and Steam for fans of Magic. 2013 is the newest iteration of the series, and was the first time the series was released for the iPad as well. One of the popular features of the games has been a series of challenges pitting the player in a pre-designed situation that he/she must figure out how to overcome and achieve victory from the jaws of defeat. In 2013 10 new challenges await to be uncovered...

The second challenge is Exalted Army and has you mounting an assault on your opponent in a bid to take him out this turn.

You will begin on your turn as you attempt to launch an assault against Nefarox's defenses and kill him this turn.

Plan

Step 1: Play each of your two Pacifism cards on two of Nefarox's creatures, it doesn't matter which two (I picked Serra Angel and Rune-Scarred Demon)

Step 2: Attack with everything (ignore the bonus from Exalted and Nefarox's special ability, this is a red herring)

Step 3: Your Nefarox will be blocked by your opponent's remaining creature. Cast Seize the Initiative on Skyhunter Skirmisher. Your creatures will do a combined 9 damage to kill Nefarox.
